Software Engineer

Magtrol Inc, which is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality products to test, measure and control torque-speed-power, load-force-weight, tension and displacement.

 

Scope of the position:

This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This candidate will be responsible for:

  • Design software to control and acquire data from various kinds of instrumentation.
  • Applicant is responsible for supporting the design and development of electronic instrumentation primarily in the area of PC applications interfacing to systems.

 

Must have strong problem-solving skills, be self-reliant, self-motivated, creative, confident, good team player, ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum requirements:

In order to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position, the candidate must have BS in Computer Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience. A degreed Computer engineer with applicable work and course experience is desired. Persons with equivalent work experience and knowledge of rotating equipment and machine building will receive equal consideration.

Any of the following would enhance the candidate’s chances for selection -

  • Prior experience in writing LabVIEW applications.
  • Relevant work in the electrical motor industry
  • Relevant work in Machine Building
  • Prior experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus Ethernet, TCP / IP, GPIB and USB)
  • Highly technical; sees software as a hobby rather than work

Electrical Engineer - Designer/Programmer

Magtrol Inc, which is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality products to test, measure and control torque-speed-power, load-force-weight, tension and displacement.

 

Scope of the position:

This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This candidate will be responsible for:

  • The electrical design and documentation of machine designs. Includes maintaining bills of material and schematic capture.
  • The design of custom software for motor test systems. Developing LabVIEW code to customer requirements.
  • Developing and sustaining hardware and software in the support in house testing of Magtrol product.

 

Must have strong problem-solving skills, be self-reliant, self-motivated, creative, confident, good team player, ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum requirements:

A degreed electrical engineer with applicable work and course experience is desired. Persons with equivalent work experience and knowledge of rotating equipment and machine building will receive equal consideration.

  • Prior experience with Altium Designer

CNC Machinist

Magtrol Inc, which is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality products to test, measure and control torque-speed-power, load-force-weight, tension and displacement.

 

Job Description:

Generate creative approaches to machining parts more efficiently while maintaining tolerances tighter than +/- .001”

Interact with Quality Inspectors to assure all parts meet print.

Maintain and repair equipment within scope of knowledge, or assists in such.

Support Lean Manufacturing efforts to improve machine shop organization, improve preventative maintenance schedules, decrease setup times and decrease lead time of orders through the shop

Support and train other operators as required.

Help to document methods/ best practices.

 

Qualifications:

The candidate should be driven by process improvements.

The candidate must have 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes.  Okuma experience preferred

Experience with live tooling lathes is very desirable

Some experience with milling and grinding is a plus, but not required

Ability to interpret shop blueprints, specifications, work orders and apply to established methods and procedures

Comfortable with writing and editing G-code, including programming new/prototype parts

Able to troubleshoot problems with setups and programs, including identifying needed tooling changes, program edits, feed and speed settings, insert geometry and grade selection, etc.

Planificateur de production

Ses tâches principales seront les suivantes :

  • Planifier la production en assurant l'adéquation charge / capacité
  • Confirmer les commandes et suivre les délais planifiés
  • Ordonnancer et suivre des ordres de fabrication
  • Diverses tâches liées à la gestion et organisation de la production

Directement rattaché au responsable de production, ce poste s’adresse à une personne au bénéfice d’un CFC du domaine technique (mécanique) complétée par une formation d’agent d’exploitation ou équivalente. Le candidat doit avoir de bonnes connaissances des processus industriels, maitriser un système de gestion ERP (idéalement Sage X3 / Preactor) et de l’expérience dans le domaine de la planification industrielle.
